The Fire Department of Solapur Municipal Corporation is responsible for firefighting, rescue operations, and emergency response services in the city. Equipped with modern equipment and trained personnel, this department provides 24x7 services to ensure public safety.

In case of a fire, try to extinguish it using available primary equipment based on the nature of the fire. Evacuate elderly people and small children. If there is heavy smoke, try to cover your mouth and nose with a wet handkerchief while exiting.
Report the fire properly to the Fire Control Room and provide the exact location. Wait at a main road junction to guide the fire brigade vehicle for quick and accurate access. Clear the road for the fire engine sounding its siren as it heads to the accident site.
Training provided includes precautions to prevent fires, how to tackle a fire in its initial stage using available equipment, and safety measures to take while evacuating from an accident site.
Currently, no fees are charged for this service.

The Fire Brigade's help can be sought in situations where there is a risk to life and property, and a disaster-like situation may arise. E.g., In case of fire accidents, domestic LPG gas leaks, gas leaks in general, drowning or water entrapment incidents, trees fallen due to storms obstructing traffic, dangerous trees, and flood situations.
