The Maharashtra Right to Public Services Act, 2015 has been enacted to expand the scope of services provided to citizens by the Government of Maharashtra and all public authorities under its purview. It came into force on 28-04-2015. The objective is to provide easy and timely services to citizens.

As mentioned above, under the said Act, the Maharashtra State Right to Public Services Commission has been established to monitor, coordinate, supervise and make recommendations regarding the provision of notified services to citizens.
