The Maharashtra Public Service Rights Act, 2015 has been enacted to extend the scope of services provided by the Government of Maharashtra and all public authorities within the jurisdiction of the Government to citizens. It came into force from 28-04-2015. Its objective is to provide services to citizens in an easy and timely manner.

As mentioned above, to monitor, coordinate, supervise and make recommendations for the provision of notified services to citizens, the Maharashtra State Public Service Rights Commission has been established under the above Act.
